Video 5 Renaming your Split XHTML pages in SIGIL…
This is part of the DIY Formatting Kit tutorial.

In the previous Video 4, you split your formatted document into individual xhtml pages.
Now you need to rename the files and set the Semantics.
For this video you will need the program SIGIL. If you have not downloaded the SIGIL program, please do so now. (link will open to a new window)
—
- Watch the Video (4:59 minutes)
- Open MyBook.epub in SIGIL
- Double Click an XHTML file
a. Right Click and select Rename
b. Maintain the .xhtml extension.
TIP: Keep your file names simple, such as cover.xhtml or chap1.xhtml. You will be coding these into the table of contents page, so simplicity is key.
TIP: Setting Semantics. This sets information in your OPF and NCX files, such as the Cover page, Creator Name, Title of your Book, Language and the toc.ncx – a great little tool that allows Kindle users to jump from chapter to chapter without having to revert back to the table of contents.
